​​Who we are

Sport at the Heart, or SatH as we are sometimes known, is a local community sports and wellbeing charity (number 1168659) operating in the London Borough of Brent. We love and respect our community and want to make this privacy policy as simple and transparent as possible, whilst informing you of your rights when it comes to how we, and others, use your personal data.

The type of data we collect

When you attend one of our programmes or projects (such as school holiday Play Days, Active Start for Little Stars or Multi-Sport Clubs) we will collect the following types of information;

name, title, date of birth and gender
medical information or information about injuries
information about race, ethnicity and sexual orientation (you have the right to decline to provide us with this information)
contact details including postal address, email, phone numbers and links to social media accounts
number of visits to our programmes via registers or booking forms

What we do with your data

We mainly just want to keep in touch with you about what we’re up to! However, we may share anonymised data with our funders, this is to monitor the impact of our work and is a normally a general requirement of us receiving funds. This could include numbers of participants at sessions, gender, postcode and age. We are currently funded by London Sport, London Community Foundation, Wembley National Stadium Trust, StreetGames and the John Lyons Charity. We will never share your name or contact details with our funders, unless we are explicitly asked to do so, and we will always let you know if you are participating in a project which requires this level of information sharing.

If we feel we need to share your information with a statutory agency as a matter of safeguarding we will do this in line with our safeguarding policies.

Your rights

When we (or any organisation or company!) holds data about you, you have the right;

to obtain access to, and copies of, the personal data that we hold about you
to require that we cease processing your personal data if the processing is causing you damage or distress
to require us not to send you marketing communications
to require us to correct the personal data we hold about you if it is incorrect
to require us to erase your personal data
to require us to restrict our data processing activities (and, where our processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent, without affecting the lawfulness of our processing based on consent before its withdrawal)
to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to any of our particular processing activities where you feel this has a disproportionate impact on your rights
